i have few questions in Documentum.

1) what format that object are stored in the repository?
2) How u create authedication and authorization in webtop?
3) What can be done if base Documentum types and/or attributes cannot handle business specific data
4) How can we implement security in documentum

Hi all,

I have DFC 5.3 SP6 installed on a 64 bit Linux (2.6.18-164.e15). When my custom app tries to connect to content server, using this 5.3 SP6 DFC, it throws the following unsatisfied link error.

java.langUnsatisfiedlinkError: /apps/DCTM/DFC/dfc/libdmcl40.so: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32 (Possible cause: architecture word width mismatch)
at com.documentum.fc.conector.DfConnection.(DfConnection.java:64)
at com.documentum.fc.client.DfClientSupport.getConnection(DfClientSupport.java:642)
...

Can someone please suggest, if libdmcl40.so works on a 64-bit OS? if yes, then is there a resolution for this error, and if not, then is there a workaround/resolution for this error?

Hello,

I've noticed a lot of SPAM being posted lately.

For example, I have just a few posts here, but they are pure technically related with specific technical issues, and I'm constantly receiving answers and personal messaged about: handbags, traveling, virus scanning - not related to Documentum at all!

Is there something the forum staff can do about this? Or... can we do something about this?

Hi folks

Can any one please rectify my problem regarding server configuration.

whenever I configure my content server 6.5 sp2 using sql server 2005 sp3 getting error saying

"Fail to Connect to the repository it could be that server is in progress of starting Press yes If you want to wait for it to start" Yes/No Button.

Please find log file.

Off Topic: Subversion

Hi Everybody,

I've been asked to write down some procedure to use Subversion for our developments, both in Eclipse for the Webtop stuff with Subclipse and in Visual Studio (2008) for DFC and DFS development using the anskhSVN add-in from Collabnet.

Since I'm not too knowledgeable in Subversion, I was wondering if anybody in there would have such kind of document and would be willing to share it with me ?

We are going to upgrade in the next few months, the only thing is to what we upgrade to.

We, this is Admins and Developers has suggested to upgrade to D6.5 sp2 , however the powers above suggests that we upgrade to (Content server 6.0 and Webtop 5.3 sp6) then once that's completed upgrade to the latest available version.

I'm trying to get a feel for types of resourcing at various sites and was wondering what your general feeling is. Obviously I anticipate a fair mix of answers if anyone can be bothered to answer such trivia - appreciated though.

In your documentum-customer working env:
1. Are you mainly contractors, SST's, permanent - i.e. whats the mix
2. In the case that you are permanent, was the training on site or was the staff hired in with several years of experience.
3. Are there many university year out people learning the trade on your site

JFI. For me.

1. SST + 1 contractor, no perm staff with more than 1 year
2. Some on/off site training from EMC/cert professionals to multiple staff but only one permanent actively coding but < 1 year.
3. It's one of several plans to hire graduates to train up and a few on work exp but not actively doing much dm_stuff.
