Anonymous posting is nice if you want this topic to be filled up with spam. It is also good because it allows bitching as much as we want
On another hand, I, for one, like to dot the i's, and if I have to bitch about something/somebody, I'll just do it, whether he/she/they/it like it or not. For once, in this coward, assisted, court cased world, let's have some cojones and use them -------------------- And to quote one of my heroes in this forum:
RTFM for DCTM is: All documentation is available via EMC Powerlink... you should use your support login.... or get one of your co-workers to download all the manuals http://www.emc.com/support-training/suppor...c-powerlink.htm Content_Server_53_SP1_api_ref.pdf {API ref, 5.3.x version, technically not supported in 6.x but is for legacy reasons} Documentum_6.5_DQL_Reference.pdf Documentum_6.5_Object_Reference.pdf Content_Server_6.5_Administration_Guide.pdf Content_Server_6.5_Fundamentals.pdf For Web Development WDK_6.5_Development_Guide.pdf WDK_6.5_Deployment_Guide.pdf WDK_6.5_Tutorial.pdf Webtop_6.5_Deployment_Guide.pdf Then install WDK & Webtop.... It will be your best resource for finding features that do stuff similar to what you want.... if you see it then examine the source and take what you need. The code in webtop is comment stripped, so I prefer to use WDK code, which is the same but is much easier to read and much better to work with and upgrade to a newer version -------------------- Francois Dauberlieu BTM Software Europe http://www.btmsoftware.eu |

Hi BTM,
I understand what you are trying to put across, but the thing is people may hesitate to write about the bad experiences if they feel that their identity is revealed as they may be sitting on the same sh*t even when they are writing about the project, Am I right? -------------------- Ajith Prabhakar Vallath

I don't object to allowing anonymous (or guest in other words) posts. However, it will need to be pretty heavily moderated because it will get spammed and I can't be here 24/7. So, basically, if I do this I need moderators to volunteer. In this case the moderation task will be to delete spam posts (they are obvious) and to hide potentially libellous posts. Myself or one of the other administrators can then make a decision as to whether it's actually libellous and unhide or delete it as appropriate.
Deleting posts isn't something I would normally do and, in the past, I have only done it in libellous situations (only one comes to mind) and for spam. -------------------- Mark Kaye

Hi Mark, BTM
Another sugestion is Is there any way where the logged in user (only) can post anonymously only in this Thread ? As Mark and BTM says its tough to moderate, But I log in to forum atleast once in one hour or so, but i am going for a small vacation/ transition on next month, after that i can volunteer some of my time for it, But If the above mentioned suggestion is not possible then its better to have more moderators from various time zones so that the forum is always clean -------------------- Ajith Prabhakar Vallath

Have added you lot as moderators, so you should be able to delete posts, etc, here. I've also enabled guest posting - let's see how much spam comes in!!

I don't bother being anonymous, as when the fecal material hits the oscillating air mobility device on a project, the management always blames the consultants in any case.
I've often been able to leave before things get bad, but I have not always been so lucky. Sometimes, out of a misguided sense of loyalty (I actually want to help!) I stay to the end... Never a good idea... They know who I am, and I know who they are. As long as I don't mention their company name, it's not going to affect their reputation - and my reputation with them is already in the toilet. Funny, how projects where they listen to you, and work with you, it works great, and they love you. And when it fails because they won't listen, and won't work with you, they curse your name. |

Unfortunately, I work for an agency that routinely retaliates against employees who express concerns about projects internally. Most are keeping semi-quiet while looking for new employment. Some wait until retirement to express their concerns. Usually in a email circulated to most of the staff.
