Hello
Before someone kindly points out to me "ITS NOT SUPPORTED!" - this I know. My question is: Has anyone implemented Zeus Load Balancers in a 6.5SP2 config? So far everything works with this project but has anyone run into any odd problems at all with this software load balancer, e.g. under system load or any add-on/third party products that go pear shaped? Many thanks Kevin |

Hi Kevin,
Load balancing normally doesnt impact the system. What is the problem you are having? I have used F5 load balancer for many clients and the only thing you have to do is configure "sticky" sessions, such that a client will always go to the same physical server after the initial connection. I presume Zeus would have similar feature that you would have to configure as well. -Johnny Hello Before someone kindly points out to me "ITS NOT SUPPORTED!" - this I know. Its set up for sticky sessions and configured out of the box but the customer is working with their partner to implement a more complex system with more throughput and addons. I'm just a bit wary of people building systems with bits of the architecture built on stuff EMC don't support. I'm sure in many cases EMC can't test every architectural scenario which may be the only reason a component isn't supported. I recall one customer had a supported shared F5 that was dropping frames effecting a WT application. Thanks for your feeback/advice re. the Full Text types issue. Kevin |

You're right about your concerns, but like you suggested, EMC cant test (nor certify) every piece of software/hardware that is part of IT infrastructure. Its up to the client to test this out before deploying to PROD environment. I had a customer whose antivirus software was wreaking havoc on customized WT.

Good luck, Johnny Johnny, which anti-virus was it (in case I come across it one of these days) ? -------------------- And to quote one of my heroes in this forum:
RTFM for DCTM is: All documentation is available via EMC Powerlink... you should use your support login.... or get one of your co-workers to download all the manuals http://www.emc.com/support-training/suppor...c-powerlink.htm Content_Server_53_SP1_api_ref.pdf {API ref, 5.3.x version, technically not supported in 6.x but is for legacy reasons} Documentum_6.5_DQL_Reference.pdf Documentum_6.5_Object_Reference.pdf Content_Server_6.5_Administration_Guide.pdf Content_Server_6.5_Fundamentals.pdf For Web Development WDK_6.5_Development_Guide.pdf WDK_6.5_Deployment_Guide.pdf WDK_6.5_Tutorial.pdf Webtop_6.5_Deployment_Guide.pdf Then install WDK & Webtop.... It will be your best resource for finding features that do stuff similar to what you want.... if you see it then examine the source and take what you need. The code in webtop is comment stripped, so I prefer to use WDK code, which is the same but is much easier to read and much better to work with and upgrade to a newer version -------------------- Francois Dauberlieu BTM Software Europe http://www.btmsoftware.eu |

It was Symantec, but the problems were due to how the customer was customizing UCF.
